POLICIES

STANDARD OF BEHAVIOR:

THE ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY FOR STUDENT CONDUCT RESTS WITH THE STUDENT AND THE PARENTS. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SCHOOL PERSONNEL TO SEE THAT NO PERSON INTERFERES WITH THE TOTAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT OF OTHER STUDENTS. THE SCHOOL DEMONSTRATES CONCERN FOR THE GROUP AND ITS WELFARE BY PRESERVING THE PROPER ATMOSPHERE FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING.

Every instructor is authorized to hold every student to a strict accountability for any disorderly conduct in the classroom, in the car or while on campus including during intermissions or breaks. Students are expected to arrive on time and maintain a courteous and respectful attitude. Possession or use of lllegal Substances, Smoking/Vaping, Stealing, immoral or vicious practice, Vandalism, Fighting/Altercations, Threatening (verbally or physically), Disrepect to an instructor, Cheating and/or any other behavior deemed indecent or inappropriate will not be tolerated. Any student caught in any of these violations will be asked to leave and removed from the course without a refund. Cell phones are not permitted to be on during class or driving time. Any cell phone usage during this time will result in the student's removal from the class without a refund.

ABSENTEEISM:

If any necessary absence occurs during the classroom portion of instruction contact the office to work out when the class can be made up for an additional fee of $75 per day. If a student misses or cancels a scheduled driving session without 24 hours prior notice a fee of $50 will be charged to cover the instructor's costs. In the event that a student has to be moved to a later class date, and notice is given less than 3 days prior to the class start time an administrative fee of $75 will be charged to his/her account.

DISABLED STUDENTS:

Students with hearing, speech, or learning disabilities should notify Breaux's Driving School prior to enrollment. They will be eligible for alternative teaching and testing techniques.

CLASS/DRIVING CANCELLATION:

Classes and/or driving sessions will be canceled in the event of extremely inclement weather (ie. Hurricane, tornado, flooding, etc.) which may put our students and staff in danger. Please see our website for any class cancellations that may occur. We will also contact all students regarding rescheduling utilizing the contact information from the student profile.

EXPLANATION OF CLASSES:

Hours of operation vary based on the season. Students will be given a lunch period. Students can bring their lunches in or order from a restaurant. Classroom instruction includes lectures on traffic laws and regulations, signs, traffic lights and markings, correct and safe driving procedures, emergencies, driving hazards, including weather, alcohol and drug abuse, motorcycle safety, interstate driving and driving offenses. A Knowledge Test will be administered the last day of class that requires a passing score of at least 80%.

BEHIND THE WHEEL (BTW) INSTRUCTION:

The behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction will take place once the student has successfully completed all scheduled classroom activities, including the Knowledge Test. Our goal is to complete 8-hr of BTW instruction 4 – 5 weeks after the completion of the classroom course. Keep in mind state law requires that teens' BTW instruction be completed within 120 days of completion of the 30 hour classroom course, and adult students' BTW instruction be completed within 90 days of completion of the 6-hour classroom course. ALL BTW SESSIONS WILL START AT BREAUX'S DRIVING SCHOOL.

ADDITIONAL DRIVING OPPORTUNITY:

Students may opt for additional behind the wheel driving at additional cost.

GRIEVANCE POLICY:

We are a "Customer Centric" company and will strive to resolve any issues. However, any grievance not resolved by the school may be forwarded to the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services, Office of Motor Vehicles, Attn: Training & Certification Unit, P. O. Box 64886, Baton Rouge, LA 70896.

REFUND POLICY:

In the event that a student completes the classroom portion of their course and opts to complete the driving portion at another school, the Behind-the-Wheel portion of his/her enrollment will be refunded (See Registration Document for Price), less any credit card processing fees. In any event the Classroom Portion of his/her enrollment is non-refundable (See Registration Document for Price). Students may schedule another class date if they are unable to attend the original class. Please call as soon as possible if you, or your child, will not be able to attend the class. If a student is removed from his/her driving education course at ANY time due to a violation of the Standard of Behavior policy, NO refund shall be given of ANY fees paid.

**NO COMPLETION CERTIFICATES WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL ALL COURSE REQUIREMENTS ARE MET AND YOUR ACCOUNT IS PAID IN FULL.
